e-Commerce growth with new Readicut website

Orbital’s home hobbycraft business, Readicut, recently gave its consumer e-commerce website - www.readicut.co.uk - a complete overhaul, with improved functionality and a modern look, although still reflecting the brand’s 90 year heritage. 

The website’s new layout makes it easier to run promotions and for customers to quickly find what they want. It also improves engagement with customers through competitions, feedback and the use of social media.

Readicut’s Nick Williams said; “Hobbycrafts and home shopping are both growing sectors so it was important to invest in a new website, especially as the existing site was already several years old when we acquired Readicut last year. We took on board customer feedback and are already pleased with the result, seeing more web traffic and online sales increasing.”

Readicut publishes several catalogues each year across its knitting, needlecraft and papercraft specialisms and has, for the first time, produced a Christmas catalogue. Customers can order by post and phone but the company is seeing most growth coming from online transactions. 

The new site is fully integrated with Orbital’s multi-channel mail order processing platform and fulfilment operation which is also used by a number of other mail order businesses.
