New software to grow Orbital’s e-broadcasting division

17/01/2011

The Orbital Group’s newest division, Orbital eConnect, recently installed the very latest e-broadcasting software ready for their planned growth in traffic during 2011.

Called eConnect Mail, the system uses high capacity internet connection via secure cable and radio links from Orbital’s Ashford HQ to send e-broadcasts directly, without the use of 3rd parties. The software pre-checks e-mails for compatibility with the major browsers, manages opt-outs and provides full reporting.

Orbital Group clients are able to access the system remotely to initiate their own e-mailing campaigns. Alternatively the Orbital eConnect team will manage e-broadcast campaigns on the client’s behalf as well as design e-mail templates for client’s to use.

Orbital’s Group Managing Director, Paul Markland, commented; “The role of the Group businesses is to deliver our client’s communications to their target audiences and the e-broadcasting aspect of this mix is growing in importance. To capitalise on this opportunity we have created the Orbital eConnect division based around our existing online team and invested in the latest technology - importantly directly linked to the web. Orbital eConnect will be developing their own clientele as well as helping the Group businesses grow e-broadcast volumes from their existing clients.”

e-broadcast traffic generated by Orbital’s travel division, running into millions of e-mails in 2010, has already switched to the eConnect Mail system. This includes their fortnightly Next Holiday travel deals e-newsletter which circulates to 300,000 travel consumer and e-mailings to the in-house travel agents database on behalf of tour operators and airlines. Extra traffic is anticipated as travel clients switch their consumer e-broadcasts over to eConnect Mail.

OMSG’s education division, which consists of JEM Education Marketing Services and recently acquired Education Direct, is also moving to eConnect Mail. Education Direct previously used a third party system for their popular and growing e-broadcasts to schools, a facility JEM is now rolling out to their client base.
