Paul Markland to retire from Orbital Marketing Services Group

Long serving Managing Director of Orbital Marketing Services Group, Paul Markland, is stepping down after 42 years with the business. The 63 year old will leave on 23rd December.  The group is parent to Rushden based fulfilment company Orbital Response. It moved into its 100.000 sq. ft. complex on Express Park in 2001. It also has a Call Centre in Kent. Markland joined the company at its inception as BP Travel Trade Services then based in Folkestone, in 1972 and had various customer service, sales and operational roles before becoming General Manager and then, in 1989, Managing Director. Charity Week 2014 Raises Money For Good Causes Across The UK

At Orbital Marketing Services Group, we have just completed our annual Charity Week, with each of our locations undertaking all sorts of activities and games to raise money for good causes. The money raised has gone towards a number of charities, both local and national, including The Children’s Society, The Pilgrim’s Hospices, Children 1st, Tros Gynnal Plant and Voice of Young People in Care (VOYPIC). Our ecommerce fulfilment company, Orbital Response, has been chosen to support one of the UK’s best-known footwear brands, Barratts Shoes, since its relaunch as an online store last month. Orbital Response now store and despatch Barratts' product ranges to consumers throughout the country. Tourist maps hit the displays with record participants

Take One Media, literature display specialists for the UK tourism industry, have completed preparations for the 2014 holiday booking season with record sales in their regional publications. 1.35 million tourist maps, 50,000 more than last year, outlining places of interest and attractions have now been produced and placed in thousands of Take One’s leaflet display stands around the country. 127 tourist attractions across the South-West, South-East, London and the Midlands have chosen to advertise in the 2014 maps, an increase of 18% year on year. Orbital company BP Travel Marketing has begun a new partnership with Self Select Distribution (SSD) to allow its clients to display their brochures in over 6000 of the UK’s major supermarkets.
